As a family owned company it offers large scale capabilities with an emphasis on efficiency, customer experience and quality delivery. The company has fully rail-linked warehousing and quayside as well as an extensive vehicle and plant fleet. Road Haulage The company has a strong road transport fleet which consists primarily of 44 tonne articulated trucks and over 200 trailers suitable for transporting a wide range of cargo types. All trailers are serviced and maintained by an in-house team of mechanical fitters and drivers are all CPC compliant (Certificate of Professional Competence). The transport office is supported by integrated fleet and road management software and using a national grid of radio links, can pinpoint the location of any vehicle in the fleet to within thirty metres and have real time information on its speed, direction and estimated time of arrival. In addition to haulage capabilities the transport fleet provides a key service between the quayside and rail operations assisting with the movement of materials and cargos between all warehouses and locations ensuring complete control of stock movements around sites. Rail Freight The company offers an intermodal rail terminal, which provides freight firms with a direct rail-link to the east coast main line. It has experience of handling a wide range of rail borne cargos and has its own fleet of shunting locomotives. This gives the flexibility to adapt quickly to customers' needs and provide a fast and efficient response. Land - Warehousing & Storage Services A range of quayside warehouses and business units where customers can store product types from pallets, bags and bulk to specialist equipment and project cargo. Many of these warehouses are equipped with overhead cranes and are metres from the quay enabling efficient store to ship transfer. The company’s state of the art, automotive steel distribution centre provides 102,263 square foot of warehouse space which provides the perfect heat and humidity controlled base for the storage of steel components. It is the first building of its scale to utilise ground source heat pumps and intelligent lighting, remaining sensitive to the environment and limiting its carbon footprint. Sea - Port & Shipping Services The company has 5 rail linked berths along 850m of quayside which can accommodate ships up to 220m with a maximum depth of 8.5m supported by a variety of onsite fixed and mobile cranes, reach stackers and forklift trucks enabling fast and efficient loading and unloading of all cargo types. RDF (refuse derived fuel) RDF is a fuel produced by shredding and dehydrating solid waste with a waste converter technology. RDF consists largely of combustible components of municipal waste such as plastics and biodegradable waste. The company is offering to coordinate the transportation of supplies of RDF to any energy-from-waste plants around Europe. The company has the necessary environmental permits in place to transport and store RDF bails and has a designated ‘waste pad’ on site. The company is currently exporting RDF to Scandinavian markets for one of the UK’s leading waste operators. The company is offering a services agreement to provide a full logistics service to European companies.
