The Italian wine producer from the North-East of the country was founded in 1979 and owns three different estates with extensive vineyards in Friuli-Venezia, Giulia and in Veneto, regions very well known for the high quality of their vineyards. They export already to Austria, Denmark, Germany, Netherland, Spain, Sweden, the United Kingdom and USA. The company catalogue includes a range of white and red grape products including Prosecco, Sauvignon, Pinot Grigio, Friulano, Bardolino, Valpolicella, Amarone. In 1999 they decided to convert the whole production to the organic agricultural system as certified by a local organic control body and today comply with the regulations for the certification of grapes and 834/2007 Reg. CEE as well as for wine-making. They have also obtained the NOP (National Organics Product) certification, from the national organism of control and certification of biological production. In order to continue their expansion, the company is looking for new hotel, restaurant and catering sector distributors in the markets where they are not present, particularly Romania, Hungary and Poland, although are open to requests from other regions as well.
Innovations and advantages
The company has nearly forty years of experience as a wine producer. The company converted all the production in biological certificated products. The company did that in a way to respect the environment and to provide a sustainable and genuine products to the final customers. Because of that, no chemical products is being used for the safeguards of the vineyards, but only organic products. To prevent fungal attack the company use just sulfur, and to prevent late blight, copper is being used. Even if the maximum quantiy of copper allowed by the european law is of 6 kilogram per hectare, the company is actually studying and testing some methodology to use a quantity of copper a lot below the law limits (because copper even in small quantity could damage the environment), by using late blight antagonist bacteria and alternative natural products. Moreover, the area where the vineyards is seetled is perfect for the production of high quality wines: the mountains are a barrier to the cold north winds and the proximity of the Adriatic coast contributes to the creation of a microclimate suitable for the cultivation of the vine.
