An Italian medium size company operating in the energy and utilities market has launched a device for domestic and buildings applications to monitor the consumption of electricity, gas and water and the energy produced by renewable sources. The device also allows the user to drive electrical loads remotely and evaluate the power quality. Offer description
The company, based in south of Italy, works in the fields of automation and information technologies and it is part of a medium sized industrial group operating nationwide as energy trader and developer of solutions for the energy and utilities market. The company has launched a product based on a state-of-the-art device to monitor in real time the consumption and, if present, the production of energy in a domestic environment (houses, buildings, condominiums). In particular, the device measures the electrical consumption and all standard parameters of a single-phase system but also the energy produced by a local source such as, for instance, a small photovoltaic plant (up to 6 KW). In addition, through optical reading systems, the device is also able to monitor the consumption of gas and water. The product provides a series of smart energy management functions for the end user that can be accessed locally and remotely through a PC/Tablet graphical interface. First of all, through wired and wireless dedicated connections, the device is able to switch on/off specific electrical loads in the house/building. The device may report power shutdown via SMS and, when conditions of power overload are detected, it may send an alarm or even take action to detach an electrical load according to a predefined priority. Conversely, when a local energy source (e.g. a photovoltaic plant) is present, the device can maximise the autoconsumption of energy by attaching or by detaching loads or storage of energy. In addition, by measuring and storing all standard parameters of the electrical network, the device is able to evaluate the quality of the electricity supply. Since the product provides all basic metering functions, it can be an interesting solution also where the standard electricity meter (provided by the energy supplier) is still a traditional analog device. The product complies with the directives for CE marking and it is ready to be used in all European countries. More specific technical characteristics include: - Several communication modes, both wireless (XBee, GSM) and wired (RS485, Ethernet), for local and remote access to the device; - Integrated Amperometric Trasformer (TA) to mesure electricity; - Integrated backup system to ensure more than one hour of operational autonomy in case of power failure. In conclusion, the proposed solution enables a simple and low cost but effective management of energy consumption in domestic environments. In particular, the solution is designed for end users, best if owners of small renewable sources (e.g. photovoltaic systems), for installers and maintenance operators of small renewable and traditional energy sources, and for energy traders interested to qualify their offer with an additional service. Because of its technical features, it is also an essential working tool for Energy Managers, Energy Management Experts (EGE), and Energy Service Companies (E.S.Co). The company is interested to Distribution Service Agreements, Commercial Agency Agreements and License Agreements. In particular, the company is looking for Distributors with an existing customer base in the energy and building sectors, including energy traders interested to qualify their offer with an additional service, energy managers, installers and maintainers of small sources of renewable and traditional energy, and professionals in the building sector, interested to integrate the solution for control and management of energy flows in their offer. Commercial agents must obviously have direct experience in the above mentioned fields and good knowledge of the areas of application and of general technical issues related to energy monitoring and control. The product can also be licensed to other operators and manufacturers, in return for a fee or share of royalties.
