Annotation
A Dutch SME designs and develops microfluidic products for the life sciences, chemistry, medical and industrial sectors. The technology allows process intensification, significantly improving the sustainability of some production processes. The company is looking for distributors or agents for commercial agreements.
Offer description
The Dutch SME offers a combination of microfluidics know-how and semi-conductor, Microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) and micromachining technologies to develop and produce innovative solutions for Lab-on-a-Chip devices. The company’s core business is manufacturing disposable chips, cartridges, flow cells and other single-use consumables used in next generation sequencing, point of care testing, and lab-analysis. The Dutch SME has developed a microreactor module that enables chemical companies to continuously perform fluid reactions on an industrial scale. The microreactor is a monolithic glass module of 10 stacked reaction channels with a joint internal volume of 100 millilitres. The module allows chemists to mix fluids, let them react and stop a reaction after a certain time. The temperature of the reaction is actively cooled by integrated cooling channels. The company operates on a material agnostic base: it assembles and manufactures products made from materials that are best compliant to its customer’s needs and applications. This allows use of glass, silicon, polymers, or a hybrid combination of these materials. The company is looking for partners to operate under distribution service agreements or commercial agency agreements.
Innovations and advantages
Microreactor technology turns fluid reactions that have always been performed in small batches into continuous processes. The switch from batch to continuous flow results in safer and more efficient chemical production. The continuous flow reactors can also be scaled to obtain extra production capacity for a particular reaction.
