A German SME specialised in innovative coating solutions is looking for distribution, commercial agency or franchise agreements for their high-performance corrosion protection coatings. The coatings offer long-term corrosion protection of metal surfaces and concrete even in areas with high humidity or salinity or other aggressive atmospheric conditions. The coatings can be applied e.g. to bridges, structural steelwork, on and offshore wind power plants, pipelines, container etc.
Corrosion often is an underestimated problem although the costs it incurs amount to a multi-billion dollar amount in the industrialised countries. Moreover, the damage can cause public safety risks (safety of bridges, road structures and buildings) and be a threat to health and environment (e.g. loss of large quantities of drinking water caused by leaking water pipes). Based on a unique formulation a German SME therefore offers corrosion protection coatings for metal surfaces and concrete, in particular for objects whose protection by coating is difficult due to adverse environmental and climatic conditions. Such objects could be e.g. industrial areas with high humidity and aggressive atmospheric conditions, coastal/offshore areas with high salinity, pipelines, bridges, tank systems. The coatings have a unique formulation and are based on a moisture curing one component polyurethane (1K PUR) which allows perfect adhesion and excellent resistance to chemical products and solvents. They have very short drying times, a wide application window (up to 98% rel. humidity and – 5°C) and offer many advantages compared to conventional solutions such as e. g. two comp. epoxy, two comp. PUR, chlorinated rubber, PVC-systems, synthetic resins. The SME is mainly looking for partners from industry or distribution partners with expertise in the coating business who should also have good knowledge of the market and market access to the relevant target groups such as e.g. companies actives in steel water constructions (harbours, sluices), ship building, on/offshore wind energy, pipelines, maintencance... The co-operation could be in form of a distribution or franchise agreement as well as a commercial agency agreement with the agent representing the SME's coating solutions against corrosion. The required sales & distribution partners, should be able/willing to implement the technologies in their markets (e.g. industrial partners to enlarge their portfolio or trade partners to use existing structures). The SME would also be open to co-operations with partners interested in new applications of the coating technology.
Innovations and advantages
The one component coating solution offers many advantages especially in comparison to common two component epoxy coatings: - single- component and „ready to use“ - no risk of mixing errors and easy to handle - since the coatings are moisture curing, they can be applied at relative humidity of up to 98 % - no dew point restriction, coatings can also be applied on humid surfaces - fast curing times, even at temperatures around 0 °C - can be applied at temperatures from below 0°C to 60°C (Epoxy systems e.g. usually require a temperature between 10°C and 35°C) - fast overcoating periods, even without blasting - can already be recoated after 45-60 minutes (epoxy coatings can only be recoated after 5-16 hours) - hard and stressable coat, nevertheless very elastic and very resistant to salt water and UV rays (epoxy coatings brittle over time or when exposed to salt water or UV rays) - BAW-certified (German Authorities for waterways)
